Warschawski announces which nonprofit won a free website from it’s "Design with Purpose" contest

BALTIMORE – March 21, 2013 – Warschawski, a full service branding, marketing, public relations, advertising and interactive agency, announced today the winner of its “Design with Purpose” initiative. The Baltimore Humane Society (BHS) received the most votes during Warschawski’s eleven week Facebook contest that encouraged the public to vote for their favorite nonprofit organization to receive a free website design. Warschawski will partner with the Baltimore Humane Society to develop and launch a new website in the coming months.

The Baltimore Humane Society was one of four finalists selected by Warschawski to compete in the Design with Purpose contest based on their mission and compelling need for a new website. The BHS earned 58 percent of the total votes. The BHS provides safe temporary shelter and care for homeless animals while working to find them permanent, loving homes. As the largest no-kill animal shelter in the region, they also provide low-cost spay-neuter services and veterinary care so that pet owners can afford to keep their animals.

The runner up in the Design with Purpose was Advocates for Children and Youth. As a consolation prize, the Warschawski team will volunteer its time at their Graduate Maryland event on May 2.

Other finalists for the campaign included Access Art and Baltimore Orchard Project.

“We received tremendous response and enthusiasm for the Design with Purpose initiative and would like to thank all of the nonprofits who participated in the contest and their supporters who voted,” said David Warschawski, CEO of Warschawski. “We are excited to help the Baltimore Humane Society visually express their brand and highlight the great work they are doing through the creation of their new website.”

“We are thrilled to win the Design with Purpose campaign and to have this opportunity to create a new website design,” said Wendy Goldband director of marketing and public relations for the Baltimore Humane Society. It’s businesses like Warschawski that help keep our shelter alive and functioning. We’re also very appreciative of the support we have in our community and participation we had in the contest.”
