MarComSEO Director / Senior SEO Strategist
We are looking for an entrepreneurial, results-driven SEO Director / Senior SEO Strategist to lead and own search engine optimization strategy across a portfolio of clients. This is a hands-on, senior individual contributor role focused on driving measurable organic growth through technical SEO, content strategy, and performance analysis—while evolving how SEO operates in an AI-influenced search landscape.
This role is ideal for a seasoned SEO practitioner who thrives in the details, thinks holistically about search intent and user experience, and is accountable for real business outcomes—not just rankings. You’ll work closely with analytics, content, UX, development, and paid media teams to ensure SEO is fully integrated into broader digital strategies.
Key Responsibilities
SEO Strategy & Ownership
- Own SEO strategy and execution for assigned clients, with accountability for KPIs including SERP visibility, organic traffic, and organic conversions
- Develop and maintain SEO roadmaps that balance technical improvements, content opportunity, and authority building
- Translate business goals into scalable, search-first strategies that drive long-term growth
Content, Intent & AI-Informed Search
- Lead keyword and search intent research to inform content strategy, site architecture, and on-page optimization
- Incorporate AI-informed workflows into keyword research, content planning, and performance analysis while maintaining SEO best practices
- Create and own SEO-driven content that aligns with user needs, brand voice, and conversion goals.
Technical SEO & Performance
- Lead technical SEO efforts including site structure, crawlability, indexation, schema, and Core Web Vitals
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure SEO best practices are implemented correctly and efficiently
- Identify and prioritize technical opportunities that improve performance, visibility, and user experience
Data, Measurement & Analysis
- Define SEO success metrics and measure performance beyond rankings, focusing on traffic quality and conversion impact
- Analyze performance data and competitive landscapes to inform ongoing optimization and strategy
- Use analytics tools and first-party data to surface insights and support recommendations
Strategic Advisement & Leadership
- Serve as a senior SEO subject matter expert for clients, explaining the why behind performance trends and the how behind future growth opportunities
- Translate complex SEO insights into clear, defensible recommendations for internal teams and client stakeholders
- Stay ahead of algorithm updates, AI-driven search changes, and emerging SEO trends
Candidate Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, with ownership of strategy and measurable organic performance
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to solve complex problems and clearly articulate solutions
- Deep understanding of keyword intent, content strategy, and on-page SEO fundamentals
- Strong technical SEO experience, including schema, Core Web Vitals, site architecture, crawlability, and indexation
- Experience using SEO tools such as Moz, Ahrefs, SEMrush, SpyFu, Sitebulb, Google Search Console, and similar platforms
- Experience leveraging AI-driven tools or workflows for content ideation, optimization, or analysis
- Familiarity with GA4, Google Tag Manager, and Looker Studio
- Experience working across both B2C and B2B client
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
- Passion for SEO evolution, emerging technology, and continuous learning
Nice to Have
- Experience working in WordPress or other open-source CMS platforms
- Experience with email marketing platforms (HubSpot, Mailchimp, Marketo, Listrak, etc.)
- Experience collaborating with paid media and CRO efforts to support integrated growth strategies
- Meta Advertising and Google Ads experience (a major plus)
